WANTED Undead or Alive by Kerrelyn Sparks

This book has a unexpected twist at the end. I'm thrilled that I picked it up.

He's A Vampire From The Big City...
Phineas McKinney thought New York City was tough, until he was attached by Malcontents---evil vampires who consider mortals to be snacks. Saved by the good vampires, Phin swore to devote his now undead life to stopping the Malcontents. He's got his job cut out for him when word comes that their enemy may be hiding in Wyoming. What does a city boy like him know about horses and campfires? Good thing he's got Brynley Jones with him...if only she didn't hate every vampire on earth.

She's a Werewolf Princes......
Bryn believes vampires are seductive and charming, and that makes them dangerous. So she's more than a little annoyed about teaming up with Phin, even if he is the only bloodsucker able to make her inner wolf purr. But as they hunt down the new leader of the Malcontents, danger threatens... and Phineas and Brynley discover a passion that will rock the foundation of their supernatural world.

If you haven't been following the Kerrelyn Sparks Vampire series you don't know what your missing. The characters of this story are determine not to get involved but when circumstances puts them together for a job, passion soon slips the leash. The heroine is strong and determined to stay out of love's noose. The hero proves to be tall, dark , handsome and determine to be taken seriously for a change.

Tiger of Talmare by Nina Croft

This book starts off with some action right from the start, the heroine meets the hero and you don't even realize it. Then it's 10 years later, and the action starts up again. You get some banter between the heroine and hero and realize that they've had other run ins with each other. You have a heroine who lives life by the set of her pants and manages to some how survive. She has two friends who are completely different from her but a common thread holds them together. Then you have the hero who can't believe she's survived this long without him. He's the "we need a plan" kind of guy, so you have some interesting parts in the book.

I just wish that the Arthur had put in a little bit about the other times the heroine and hero run into each other. This would have made the book longer and explained the chemistry between them better. Over all I liked this book, and I hope she writes about the 2 friends as I like books done in a series.

In Bed with a Highlander by Maya Banks

I thought I'd read all the Highlander historical romances books there were to read a long time ago but I guess I was wrong. I really enjoyed this book. It had everything in it that makes a great Romance book. Intrigue, excitement, passion, dark drama, and funny moments. The hero was strong, fierce, and use to his word being law. The heroine comes across as strong willed and funny. She believes things should be done a certain way and that everyone should do things that way, for their own good. Now the heroine doesn't pretend to know everything and isn't afraid to ask for help. She freely admits when she's wrong. What happens when you throw together a bossy man with a women that one minute enrages him then the next makes him want to laugh. You must read this book to find out.

I liked this book so much I bought the next one in line and am looking forward to the 3rd when it comes out.

"What Do Men Really Want For Valentine's Day"

I heard a radio talk show this morning and this was the question of the day. “What do men really want for or on Valentine's Day". The hosts were debating this issue and I must admit that they got me thinking.

Ladies we all know what most women want for Valentine's Day, but have you ever asked your significant other what they really want. Could it possibly be true that women just go goofy on this day and get the traditional gifts for their men. What kind of gift do you give? Is it the heart shaped candy box, cookies, flowers with a teddy bear or the heart shaped balloon.

I decided to take a poll and 8 out of 10 men did not mention any of the traditional gifts when I asked them what they would prefer for Valentines Day. 2 of the 10 men stated that Valentine Day was a holiday made up by women for women.

So if you haven't bought your Valentine's gift yet let me give you some ideas, go by your partners personality.
If your guy is a . . . ..

  1. Outdoorsy... gloves, hat, gift certificate from sports store
  2. Goofy/jokester ….. heart boxer shorts
  3. Romantic.......candle to let him know how to set the mood
  4. Party Boy........decorated shot glasses
  5. Organized.......cork-board made from wine corks
  6. Tree hugger.......tie dyed shirt
  7. Rockstar..........belt with studs or wrist band
  8. Coffee Drinker........thermos with pics of fun times you had

you get the drift......

My Kobe e-reader

Hello and Happy New Year!

I was so excited! My husband gave me a wireless Kobo e-reader for Christmas and I couldn't wait to use it.

I was always marking my calendar for when my favorite authors were releasing a book. That way I could go to the book store on payday weekend. I thought that if I had an e-reader it would allow me to get the books faster. I never considered all the steps it could take for me to get books.

Now I have to wait for book to be on my e-reader website or affiliated bookstore. I never thought about money to pay for downloads if I found a book, I mean, I knew I would have to pay for downloads, but I still have to wait for my book allowance on payday weekend. I can go thru 3-4 books in a week and the cost is almost the same for an e-book as a paperback.

After a few weeks of reading e-books I'm on the fence about it, I like that I can get a book in a matter of minutes and that I can slip my e-reader in my purse, but I think I like having a book in my hands. Go figure!

All I have to say is do your research before you buy an e-reader go here
